∇ What I truly want for you is peace and joy. I read these reminders from Morgan Harper Nichols and it was exactly what I needed to be told today.
Please do something for yourself that is self-care. A foot bath. A tub soak. Gazing at your tree with a glass of wine and square of dark chocolate. I got a massage this week, which is the best gift Past Rachel could’ve given December Rachel the week before Christmas. As someone who has dealt with chronic neck pain, this literally saved my neck during a really full week.
∇ This biscuit recipe I owe entirely to Drew (almost 13); he made it for the first time this week and it turned out perfectly! I told him he could contribute some biscuits next week during Family Christmas where we will have dozens upon dozens of hungry people.
∇ If you, like me, still aren’t done with Christmas shopping then the miracle of Amazon is yours. Like this book I sent to a friend or this cozy something I’ll be putting in a stocking.
∇ Also, I was going to do Walmart grocery pick up and then noticed they were offering a free 15 day trial for DELIVERY TO MY HOUSE! What! Crying tears of joy right now and currently loading up my cart for a weekend delivery. If they offer this in your area it’s so worth it, especially during this time of year when you just cannot.
With that in mind…do yourself a favor now by stocking up on basic necessities for next week. For me, that includes stuff like: dishwasher detergent, contacts solution, toilet paper, eggs, coffee, heavy whipping cream. Do you want to run to the store for toilet paper when you could be playing a game of Probe? No. You do not.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you, dear ones!
*slight exaggeration, but I myself do eat the amount of at least two people and my sisters can pack it away, too, to say nothing of the teenagers
