I don’t often pre-order books, but when I do it’s definitely because I admire the author and want to support their work! Pre-orders are hugely important in letting the publishers how much much interest there is in the book and therefore what to print. Additionally, many authors offer really lovely incentives to readers who pre-order, as a thank you. For example, this first book I pre-ordered came with lifetime access to a corresponding video course, by the author, that complimented the topics covered in the book:
Stop Calling Me Beautiful: Finding Soul-Deep Strength in a Skin-Deep World. It’s actually arriving this week, while I’m away in Denver, so I told Hosanna to watch for its arrival and begin reading it before I return and get my hands on it! I recently found Phylicia on Instagram and look forward to hearing her speak at an event soon. She’s really encouraged me to look at the Bible differently than I have before and her mantra is “Every Woman a Theologian!”
Here are three other books I’ve pre-ordered with a release date of March 3, 2020:
1.
Don’t Overthink It: Make Easier Decisions, Stop Second-Guessing, and Bring More Joy to Your Life
Anne is one of my favorite-est bloggers turned book authors, this being her third book! I’ve enjoyed all her books but this one is especially relatable and apt for me at this time in my life. I just finished reading a digital copy but can’t wait to get my hands on a physical one so I can begin interacting with the text using highlighters and pens for journaling in the margins, writing pensive thoughts, as well as dog-earing my favorite quotes and probably dripping coffee on the pages.
2.
Foundations: 12 Biblical Truths to Shape a Family
After spending time with Ruth and Troy in person during a Gracelaced retreat, in addition to reading Ruth’s work and enjoying her art for years, I’ve come to trust and respect their hearts and their family. I know this will be a book of treasure to share.
3.
Hand Lettering God’s Word: Connect with Scripture in a Beautiful Way
I’m really excited to get this one; I’ve dabbled with learning lettering over the years but have never practiced enough to become truly good at it. My regular handwriting script is always evolving ever so slightly, but lettering is a completely different learning curve I’d love to immerse myself in. If you are good at lettering, what tips and tricks would you share with me? I’ve been collecting supplies! I have some of Jenny Highsmith’s artwork and I’m sure this book is just as beautiful.
